The challenge
The General Admissionsoffice of a large state university engaged the SAS Institute to help with theimplementation of a Financial Management (FM) solution to assist in the annualadmissions budgeting process.  RSMMcGladrey’s CFO Advisory Services Group partnered with SAS during theimplementation.

Each university in the systemis responsible for projecting their campuses’ admissions for fundingpurposes.  These budget projections areaccumulated and managed by the University-GA. SAS FM was chosen to centralize the budgeting process and allow campusdata to be entered and accessed through one database.  RSM McGladrey was engaged by SAS to providefunctional and technical resources during the implementation.

The solution
While working with SASInstitute, RSM McGladrey consultants were able to effectively install FM andsatisfy budgeting and reporting requirements of the University-GA. 

After discussing andunderstanding the customer’s budgetary and reporting requirements, RSM McGladreyCFO Advisory Services Group teamed with SAS Institute to deliver astate-of-the-art solution.  Functionalityimplemented by RSM McGladrey included:

• Development of budgetdata-entry forms that were easy to complete by campus users.
• Development of reportingcapabilities based on the University-GA requirements.
• Provide access to data formsand reports through a web-based portal.

The results
RSM McGladrey’s CFO AdvisoryServices Group was able to successfully partner with SAS Institute to capturerequirements and develop solutions within budget and on schedule.  Notable system benefits include:

• Consolidated warehousing ofactual and projected admissions data, allowing for real-time access.
• Enhanced data-entry functionality.
• Better reportingcapabilities, using advanced Excel functionality.
• Version control over thesubmission, review, and approval of campus projections.
