June 8, 2007 - RSM McGladrey Retirement Resources is proud to announce their charter membership in a new organization called The Council of Independent 401(k) Recordkeepers (“CIKR” – pronounced “kicker”).

CIKR’s mission is to educate and advocate on issues of particular relevance to independent 401(k) plan recordkeepers.

Membership in CIKR consists of independent 401(k) plan recordkeepers (and those companies that provide support to independent recordkeepers) that provide their services either directly to plan sponsors or through other retirement plan service providers. Unlike other 401(k) plans service providers, CIKR members are not primarily in the business of selling investment products.

“CIKR will provide RSM McGladrey an opportunity to participate in increasingly relevant policy discussions with Congress and the government agencies concerning the disclosure of fees and other recordkeeping issues relating to 401(k) plans,” said Rosemarie Panico-Marino, Managing Director and National Practice Leader for Retirement Resources “CIKR is the first organization to solely represent our interests in the 401(k) plan industry.”
