Challenges and Opportunities in Today's Global Economy

RSM McGladrey hosted its 2nd annual Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution Summits where it released the findings from its annual report on the state of manufacturing and wholesale distribution in the U.S. 

Held in three cities in the Great Lakes area – Oak Brook, Illinois, Madison, Wisconsin and Mishawaka, Indiana – nearly 400 manufacturing and wholesale distribution companies attended the summits to hear the results of the survey and learn more about opportunities and challenges facing their industry including; the impact of globalization, rising health care costs and other critical work force issues.

At the Chicago event, Norman Bobins, chairman emeritus of LaSalle Bank Corporation, was the recipient of RSM McGladrey’s Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding commitment and service to the Chicago business community.  During his acceptance speech Bobins discussed the three leadership attributes – courage, humility and trust – that drive business success.
