Applying
An online submission of your resume will be acknowledged via email. Your profile and resume will remain active in our system—which our recruiters search regularly—so you may be considered for future openings that match your qualifications. However, if you desire, we will honor your request to be removed from future consideration.
Timing
From application to hiring decision, the timing of our employment process is dependent on numerous variables. Because the timing can be unpredictable, you should let your recruiter know about any factors affecting your availability. You will be notified as to the status of your consideration for a position, even if that position has been filled by another candidate.
Preliminary screening
A designated recruiter reviews the qualifications of all candidates seeking consideration for a position and forwards the resumes of the most appropriately qualified candidates to the hiring manager. The hiring manager selects the candidates to be interviewed.
Initial Interview
To help align your interests with our opportunities, a representative may call you or meet you in person to gather additional information, such as relevant experience and qualifications,availability for interviews, interest in relocation, compensation expectations,etc.
Subsequent Interview(s)
When a hiring manager asks to meet you, a recruiter will call to arrange a time for you to visit our offices. If you live far from the interested office, we will make travel arrangements for you. If there’s time before your visit, we will send you an information packet which will include detailed directions and an employment application to complete and bring with you.
When you arrive for your interview, a recruiter (or local representative) will greet you, discuss your application, explain the schedule for your visit, and answer any questions.Different lines of business have different practices, but you can expect to have two to four individual meetings with lines of business representatives.You will have the chance to share your detailed qualifications and learn more about RSM McGladrey and our work. Sometimes we need to ask a candidate back for additional interviews before making a final decision.
Offer
If you’re selected for the position, a recruiter or hiring manager will convey a contingent offer of employment. The offer package will include starting salary and a summary of benefits. Normally we would expect your decision within a week.
Background Checks and Hiring
After you accept the offer,we will conduct a background check that covers your employment history,references, educational qualifications, etc. (We ask you to sign a formauthorizing this check as part of your offer package.) If no adverseinformation is reported during the check—which typically takes three to five days—wewill proceed to hiring. At this time wewill discuss and determine your start date.
