Dawson joins RSM McGladrey as International Tax Director
November 10, 2006, (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)-- James W. Dawson has joined RSM McGladrey, Inc. as International Tax Directorwith the Firm’s Florida Tax Practice. Inthis role, Dawson will be in charge of theFirm’s International Tax Practice for Florida.
Dawson brings with him more than eighteen years ofaccounting and international tax and business experience. Dawsonhas held leadership positions with the nation’s largest accounting firms,including two of the “Big Four.”
Dawson has been responsible for the delivery of both U.S. andforeign country tax reduction strategies and completion of related taxcompliance for a variety of closely held businesses and their shareholders/owners. Some of his accomplishments in this positioninclude the establishment of tax efficient Latin American holding companystructures, U.S. exportstrategies, foreign acquisitions, intellectual property migration, andworldwide tax minimization strategies for American companies with subsidiaries throughoutEurope, the Americas,and Asia Pacific.
Dawson is a member of the American Institute of CertifiedPublic Accountants (AICPA) as well as the Ohio Society of Certified PublicAccountants. He has been heavilyinvolved in the local community in Ohio andplans to seek similar involvement with his new Florida surroundings. He is Past President of the CincinnatiChamber of Commerce International Trade Development Group, Past Treasurer ofTravelers Aid of Cincinnati, Past President of Parachute (CASA: Court AppointedSpecial Advocates), and Past Treasurer of Cincinnati Zoo Golf Tournament. Additionally, he was the founder and Past Co-chairmanof the Cincinnati Zoo Tennis Tournament.
Dawson earned a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Cincinnatiand a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Management from Anderson University. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and German.
