Compiani Receives the 2005 Henry W. Bloch National Award for Outstanding Community Service
February 7, 2006 (South Florida) - Frank Compiani has been named the 2005 RSM McGladrey, Inc. recipient of the Henry W. Bloch National Award for Outstanding Community Service. The award is given by The H& R Block Foundation in honor of founder Henry Bloch to recognize an individual’s exceptional corporate and civic leadership. Compiani was presented with a plaque, and a grant totaling $5,000 which he distributed evenly between two non-profit organizations: the Quantum House and the United Way for hurricane relief efforts.
For Compiani, the greatest way to impact the future is to invest in children today. To that end, Compiani has devoted countless hours to South Florida charities dedicated to improving the lives of area children. “There’s an extraordinary feeling you get from helping people who are in need and who truly appreciate your contribution,” said Compiani.
Although his role as managing director of RSM McGladrey’s Florida practice keeps him very busy, Compiani makes time to volunteer for several organizations on a regular basis. Many of these activities fall into the educational and development realm. He secured funds for art education for children in Palm Beach County schools, as well as building funds to expand educational resources for at-risk youth. He was also active in instituting extracurricular programs for school children that encourage a love of community service and the arts. He is currently involved in maintaining the financial well being of St. Mary’s Child Development Center, a group dedicated to improving the quality of life of children with developmental anomalies via state of the art treatment and rehabilitation. Compiani’s tireless efforts in his community were realized when a half-cent on the dollar tax was supported to fund new schools and upgrade old ones, a dream he will continue to oversee as a member of the board charged with monitoring the spend on that revenue.
