Natalie Gulbis
Since turning pro in 2002 at
age 18, Natalie has risen to prominence as one of the LPGA Tour’s most talented
and well-known young stars. In 2007 Natalie earned her first career LPGA Tour
victory at the Evian Masters, played on the victorious United States team in
the Solheim Cup and finished 22nd in the Rolex Rankings.
Born in 1983, Natalie played
in her first LPGA Tour event as an amateur at the age of 14, becoming the
youngest player ever to qualify for a Tour event at the time. She joined the
LPGA Tour after one year at the University
of Arizona, and by the
end of 2005 was named the LPGA’s Most Improved Player by Golf Digest. That year
Natalie finished in the top 10 in all four majors and finished with 12 top-10
finishes overall. She followed that in 2006 with 12 more top-10 finishes before
finally breaking through with her first victory in 2007.
Natalie also has made a name
for herself off the course with a hit reality TV show “The Natalie Gulbis Show”
on The Golf Channel. She has been named one of the top five most marketable
young athletes by Advertising Age, has appeared in several swimsuit calendars
and has written a popular online diary on her Web site, www.nataliegulbis.com.
